The Social Science of Beatlemania

Where were you in 1964, in the country of The United States of America?  In the beginning of 1964, I was living in a house to where we recently  moved, at 36 Cherry Lane, Souderton, in the "Keystone State" of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Why it was nicknamed a state yet formally called a commonwealth,
who knows?

I was eleven years of age and finishing the last,  grade 6, of the Elementary School in Telford, from where we had moved.  Next in line, much later that year, would be Junior High School, grade 7-1, of the Souderton Area High School.  I remember very little of the move to the new house.  My daddy was in charge and everything was done for us.

The most remarkable memory of the beginning of 1964, was the invasion upon U.S. soil of a group named "The Beatles",   four young men from Liverpool, England, who had already created the storm within the seemingly serene Monarchy of the total of Great Britain, which encompassed the countries of Wales, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and England.

We really hadn't noticed what degree of anarchy that had taken root by the "Fab Four", but there was a phenomenon that had already gripped Great Britain; it was ascending upon us very unknowingly and innocently, until that Sunday eve in early February, when the "Beatles" were to make homage of nearly all of us, while we witnessed the invasion by way of the national entity called "The Ed Sullivan Show", "a fine group of youngsters from Liverpool",to which  Ed Sullivan would repeatedly refer.  To us, they were the living legends of John, Paul, George, and Ringo! The rest is history captured on video.
